Fathers
Updated: Apr 25, 2022
In this world, Men, in general tend to identify themselves as what they do. I am a baseball player. I am an Engineer. I am in Sales. Their identity for their adult life is a based on their career. Men tend to be less emotional, more direct and to the point, and more focused on securing the finances for his family. Today’s parents have a tougher job than ever. So much divorce. So much to take kids attention. Horrible things on the internet. Parents today absolutely need to be praying and speaking over their children more than ever before. The enemy is coming after our children and it is our job as parents to teach them Godly ways, keep them on the right path, and be a reflection of His glory to your children.
Fatherless homes are a huge problem in the United States. At least 36% of American homes exist without a father. Only 60% of families in America have even seen their father in the past year. Those are two staggering numbers that has only gotten worse year after year. Fatherless homes produce many issues:
Fatherless homes produce:
o 63 percent of youth suicides (Bureau of the Census)
o 90 percent of all homeless and runaway children (CDC)
o 85 percent of all children with behavioral disorders (CDC)
o 85 percent of all youths in prisons (Fulton Co. Georgia jail populations, TX Dept. of Corrections 1992)

Wow! Sobering numbers. We need our Men to stand up, be Godly fathers. We need praying fathers to pray and speak over their children. We need Men that don’t have kids or have kids grown up to mentor young father and children, praying and speaking over them. We need all Christians to pray for children, speaking into their lives, and to see the statistics above to drop dramatically! We need a shift in the spirit with children. That they would have life in those dry bones! That they will lay on the altar, live a life that is not their own, and honor Jesus in everything they do. Men, be an example for watching children (and they are ALWAYS watching) be a worshipper, a prayer, a person that reflects the attitudes of Jesus, and a person that walks with integrity, respect, and honor. Being a Father is one of your callings. Lou Engle once said, “Live a Life worthy of the calling you have received.”
Today’s Prayer
Prayer over our kids: God give them spiritual desire. God hotly pursue me, hotly pursue my kids. So much that they will reach out and rip the veil of Heaven with their ravenous desire for revival! God, we pray that fathers, men everywhere, step up and become a picture, a reflection of you, our Heavenly Father! In Jesus name!
AMEN!
