Opportunties

God gives you opportunities every day. What we do with those opportunities is up to us. Opportunity for thankfulness. Opportunity to honor Him. Opportunity to praise Him. Opportunity to show integrity, honesty, and love. The opportunity to speak into someone’s life. Opportunity in the little things. Seeing the sunshine and thanking God for the sunshine. Thanking God for the rain. The bottom line, God is all around us. God’s love for us is all around us. God’s glory is all around us! Do you want to get closer to Him? Look for things to be thankful for. Look for His love of us because it is everywhere. His love knows no bounds. His love for us is stronger than any word in the English language that we could use to describe it.

He sent his Son to get pummeled, beaten beyond description and hung on a cross for you, for me, for all of us! What is amazing to me is His love for us is that strong despite our faults, despite all our issues, despite our problems, despite all that he sees, His love never fades, wanders, or is questionable. All he wants is for us to love Him back, to surrender to Him, to honor Him, to give Him the glory he is due, and to want Him more than we want anything or anyone else. I sometimes wonder how people that are Christian can go through life or through a church service not honoring Him the way he deserves. I will admit, it angers me. We see His glory all around us, we see all the things he has done for us and others, knowing He is the King of Kings and Lord of Lords, knowing how much mercy he shows us, knowing He is the God who desires to be worshipped, how can some not give everything in worship to Him. Pour out the alabaster jar of perfume on Him, tell Him how much we love Him, how much we need and want Him, how Holy He is, and how worthy He is.

God gives you opportunities every day. There is no bigger opportunity than the opportunity to worship him. To give Him glory and honor. Let’s take EVERY opportunity to honor him each and every day. During worship, during our daily activities, around our children, around our spouse, around friends and family, EVERY opportunity EVERY day. When we decide and make Him the center of our world, honor Him with our actions, attitudes, words and more, this is when we draw closer to Him. When we draw closer to Him, He draws closer to us. When He draws closer to us, your life will never be the same. Your worship will never be the same. Your attitudes, actions, and words will never be the same. When He draws closer to us, life is never the same. Your life becomes His life. Your words become His words. Your heart becomes His heart. Your thoughts become His thoughts. More of Him and less of me. That is our hearts cry!

Today’s Prayer

Jesus, thank you for hearing me. Thank you for all that you do in our lives. Thank for the opportunities you send us to bring you honor and glory. I ask that you help us cherish them as opportunities to help others, bring you glory and honor, and leave a legacy of laying ourselves down for you. Draw us closer to you as you draw closer to us. We love you Jesus! We want you as Lord of our lives. In Jesus name!
